Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy that considers not only where your pain or discomfort is, but where it could be coming from, and what other factors could be contributing. This means that osteopaths not only consider bones (as the name suggests), but also muscles, ligaments, connective tissues, organs, circulation and the central nervous system when diagnosing a problem. It’s considered a holistic form of treatment, which encourages the body’s ability to heal and rebalance itself.

The kinds of conditions osteopaths typically treat are wide-ranging, from low back pain and sciatica, to headaches, neck pain and sports injuries. Osteopathy can also help with tennis elbow, repetitive strain injuries, as well as chronic pain.

Osteopathy is recognised by most private health funds, as well as by Medicare under a Team Care Arrangement. Ask for more information to find out if you’re eligible for 5 partially subsidised treatments through Medicare.
